MINEHEAD HARRIERS PUPPY SHOW Saturday 2nd July 2011

The weather was fine and dry and the sun really did shine on the great crowd that attended our Puppy Show. Kennels gleaming, flowers at every corner, hounds immaculate. Thanks to Richard and Sarah Tong, and their helpers, for all the hard work and attention to detail.

Our 7 couple of young entry showed well for the judges, Mr. David Thavenot, former Master of the Dart Vale & South Pool Harriers and Mr. Nick Hopkins, now with the North Cotswold, but well known to us all from his days as Huntsman with the Minehead Harriers. Two judges with first hand ‘harrier’ knowledge and expertise!

Champion Hound of the Show was ‘Valour’, a bitch walked by Mrs. Mary Bromiley and family.
The Couple class was won by ‘Lawyer’ and ‘Lancer’ walked by Mrs. Donna Malin.
The Best First Season Working Hound was won by ‘Frazer’ walked by Mrs. Sue Cox.
The Sponsored Hound Shield went to Chris Dodd.
The Childrens Award 10 years and under was presented to Emily Burge.
The Childrens Award 16 years and under was presented to Ellie Malin.

A presentation was made to Dr. Tony Worssam, of framed photographs, to acknowledge his many years of generous support to the Minehead Harriers, as subscriber, supporter, committee member and Trustee. A further surprise presentation of framed photographs, was made to Chris Thacker, to mark his recent 65th Birthday. All photographs courtesy of Peter Creech.

Prize giving and presentations over, it was time for tea, a marvellous spread, kindly organised by the Hunt Club and most generously given by our supporters. A great day was had by all!
