THE
PETERBOROUGH HARRIER and BEAGLE SHOW
20th July 2011 as part of the FESTIVAL OF HUNTING
Charlie,
Sue, Angela, Bob and Richard left kennels with our hounds on
Tuesday at 1.00pm. Hounds all washed, clean and shining, they
travelled in the trailer, and the Range Rover was loaded down
with luggage and kit for the next day.
A big
thank you to Sarah who was most ably left in charge at kennels
whilst we were away, with assistance from Richard (Pluck) and
Damien.
We arrived
at Peterborough at 6.00pm, a good journey and the weather was
fine. Hounds settled into their overnight kennels, we found
the nearby restaurant where, who should we meet but, Sid and
Margaret – there to support the Minehead Harriers as always!!
Wednesday
was an early start, fortunately the weather was dry, and judging
commenced at 9.30am.
E. Foster, Esq. and D. J. Palmer, Esq. judged the dog hounds
in the morning and Miss Felicita Busby MFH and C. C. Frampton,
Esq. MFH judged the bitch hounds in the afternoon. We were joined
by Charlotte and Tim who had also made the journey to support
our hounds, and in particular ‘Laughter’!
Richard
and Bob showed our hounds well and soon Richard’s arm
was laden with rosettes.
The detailed results are listed below but all associated with
the Minehead Harriers should be enormously proud of our hounds.
We took 6 and a half couple and came home with 13 rosettes,
2 trophies and Reserve Bitch Champion – a great credit
to our huntsman.
It was
a long journey home, we arrived back at kennels in the early
hours of Thursday morning.
Thank you to Sue for undertaking ALL the driving.
We
may only be a small hunt from a small corner of England, but
we certainly made ourselves known at THE PETERBOROUGH
HOUND SHOW 2011.
